

LESLIE KAY NELSON, a Vietnam Army Veteran and retired Hoover Dam building maintenance man, caring husband, loving father and proud grandfather (Papa) passed away on February 9, 2019 at the age of 70 in the comfort of his home.
Leslie is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beverly Nelson (Tubbs); his children, Mandy Larson (Nelson), Heather McLain (Nelson), Tori Tulley (Nelson), and KayLee Nelson; and his grandchildren, Kyree, Emma, Maximus, Rylee, Abigail, Sara, Annabelle, and twins, Everlee and Lucy.
Leslie was born in Utah on September 20, 1948 to his parents, Leslie and Mildred Nelson, and was the middle son of five siblings. He moved to Boulder City, NV and began working for the Bureau of Reclamation at the Hoover Dam, where he was a very proud “Dam Worker.” He married his beautiful wife, Beverly, on September 29, 1984 in Las Vegas, NV. Together, they had three beautiful daughters; Heather, Tori, and KayLee. He was blessed with five grandchildren from Tori and with three more from Heather. His grandchildren became the most important and proudest parts of his life. Leslie also had a daughter from a previous relationship, Mandy, who blessed him with his first granddaughter, Kyree.
Leslie loved being a Papa and spending time with his grandchildren. He always enjoyed tinkering around the house and yard, building the most unique things, and sketching amazing pictures especially of Hoover Dam.
A viewing is scheduled for 3:00 pm on February 22, 2019 at the Palm Boulder Highway, 800 Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. A personal service will be scheduled at a future date.
