Mom was born in Memphis Tennessee in 1937 to parents Matthew and Beatrice Beisber. She grew up in Zainesville, Ohio during her grade school years and then moved to Elm Grove, Wisconsin which is a suburb of Milwaukee. Mom graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1955. She met Dad on a blind date while working in Arlington Virginia. A friend of Dad's set them up and introduced them. Dad said that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and they fell in love and got married on June 4th, 1958. Dad actually graduated from the naval academy at Annapolis, Maryland that morning and then they got married that same afternoon. Yeah I know, it sounds like something out of a fairy tale, but it's true. And to top it off, they were married for 63 years! What a beautiful picture it paints.
Mom is survived by her 3 children, Richard, myself (Robert) and Jennifer and her 2 grandchildren, Rebekah and Matthew, and her sister Marge. Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was the sweetest person I've ever known. She had such a beautiful smile. Mom always encouraged me and brightened my day. She was like a ray of sunshine that gave me so much hope. Everyone who saw Mom would comment on how pretty she was and how sweet she was. Everybody loved her. She loved to walk. She used to walk 5 miles every day for decades. She also loved walking in the Mall where she could chat with people along the way. Whether it was indoors, around the neighborhood, or hiking in the National Parks, she enjoyed every minute of it! People would literally stop to talk and tell her what an inspiration she was. One man even said, "Bob, you don't understand. She's an institution! She loved to watch TV in her favorite chair. Her favorite show was Dr. Pol. She loved animals and she even worked at Beach Animal Hospital when she and dad lived in Cocoa Beach, Florida back in the 80's. Her favorite places to eat were Capprioti's with their Chicken and Classic Cheese Steak sandwiches and Popeye's with their spicy chicken sandwiches. She loved anything hot and spicy! We'd also order pizza on Sundays after church. We really looked forward to Sundays! She sure loved her ice cream. Any chance we could get a DQ, we would indulge. Sometimes the simplest things in life are the most memorable and heartfelt. Mom also loved to clean her house. She always kept it immaculate. She was the best Mom I could have ever asked for! She lived such a wonderful life of 87 years. She was such a blessing and inspiration to so many people. Thank you Lord for giving me such a beautiful Mom, inside and out. She had such a beautiful spirit and I miss her deeply. I had the honor and privilege of being given the opportunity to take care of Mom for these last 3 1/2 years. What a gift! I so dearly cherish all the time we had together and I'll never forget it. What a joy it truly was! She passed away at home which is just what she wanted. No more tears, no more sorrow, no more pain, no more suffering. Mom thank you so much for all that you did for me and for the whole family! You always put us first in all that you did! You truly radiated God's love to everyone that you came in contact with! I can't wait to greet you at the pearly gates! What a celebration that will be! Mom you have graduated to Heaven! You're with Jesus now for eternity walkin' on streets of gold. You truly were an incredible example of His love! I'll never forget you Mom. For the Lord to have given me such a loving and caring, dear sweet Mom, is a blessing beyond measure! I love you dearly, Mom and I'll see you at the pearly gates!
