It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the oldest member of the Logan family, Noel Eugene Logan, lovingly known as Gene. Gene was born on August 19, 1935, in Redlands to Omer
and Pearl Logan. As the oldest of five children, he was raised in Paradise and Redlands, California, where he developed the steady strength and deep sense of responsibility that guided him throughout his life.
Gene was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle. As the eldest sibling, he carried a quiet leadership within his family that extended far beyond his own household. Over the years, many nieces and nephews looked to him with admiration and affection, knowing him as steady, dependable, and genuine.
Gene shared a remarkable love story spanning seventy years with his devoted wife, Josephine Logan, until her passing in 2023. After their marriage, Gene and Jo made their home in Sylmar, where they raised their family and built a life centered on loyalty, hard work, laughter, and unwavering dedication to one another and to their children.
Together, they proudly raised five children: Ronnie, Debbie, Mike, Donna, and Donnie. Through them, the Logan family grew to include seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four
great great grandchildren. Nothing brought Gene greater pride than gathering with his family. He was a steady presence at the head of the table, a storyteller with a camera never far from reach, and a source of quiet strength for those who depended on him.
Gene found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed fishing and camping, especially when surrounded by family. He held a deep and lifelong love of baseball and was a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Whether listening to a game on the radio, watching from his favorite chair, or discussing players and statistics, baseball was a cherished tradition in his life.
His loyalty to the Dodgers remained constant throughout the years, and following the team brought him lasting enjoyment. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family, including owning and operating his own Chevron service station, reflecting his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his beloved wife Josephine, and his daughter Donna Syers.
Gene’s legacy lives on in the generations he helped shape and in the love he gave so freely as a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. His life was defined by steadfast
devotion to his family and to the values he carried throughout his ninety years. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
