Richard Overton 9 November 1926 – 27 September 2013 In Our Memories: Richard was born in Los Angeles, California to John Jefferson Overton and Abby Holcomb. He served his country proudly for more than 27 years in the US Army National Guard and US Army. A veteran of WWII Japanese Occupation, Korean War and the Vietnam. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and Good Conduct Medal with 3 loops. Retiring from the US Army as SGM (E9) in 1974, he and his wife made Henderson, Nevada their home. He retired again after 21 years with the US Postal Service in Las Vegas, Nevada. Loving father and friend, he leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Annaleah. 2 Daughters: Elise Holdar and Joslyn Harding Karley, and Son: Rommie Overton. 5 Granddaughters: Bridget Holdar, Tanya Harding-Cadger, Amber Holdar-Center, Jennifer Overton- Kinch and Tabatha Overton-Lemmons. Grandson: Jonathan Overton. 2 Great granddaughters: Cordelia Center and Alexis Overton. 4 Great grandsons: Andrew Kinch, Greg Kinch, Conor Center and Duncan Center. Richards final resting place will be the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder, Nevada. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
