Robert McFarland, 78, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on May 30th, 2016. He was born in Santa Monica, California on July 7th, 1937, and moved from Los Angeles to Henderson, Nevada in 2001. Bob graduated from Downy High School in 1955 and was a licensed Professional Engineer and had a Certificate for Business Management from UCLA.
He was married to Joanne on December 29th, 1966. Bob had a career in the Aircraft industry for multiple companies including: McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, Rohr, and Northrop. He was a commodore of PMYC and Captain of the Coast Guard Auxiliary as well as a member of St. Peter of the Apostle Catholic Church, and had a passion for life, living, friendship and travel. He was a good friend to many.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joanne, his son, John, grandchildren, Dylan and Owen, and brother, Donald. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Trevie and Jim McFarland, two sons, Tommy and Jimmy, his brother Ron, and niece Debbie.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2 pm with a Funeral Service at 3 pm at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, Nevada 89015.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Culver City, California at a later date.
