Robert Sacco

Robert Sacco, age 69, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. He was born in North Plainfield, New Jersey to his parents Carmela Cherubino and William Sacco. Raised in New Jersey, Robert participated as a scout from Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and got up to the rank of Eagle. He graduated from High School and immediately joined the U.S. Air Force.

Robert enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in July of 1972. He served a 1 year enlistment, working in radar at Wurtsmith AFB in Michigan; where he received a National Defense Service Medal and an Air Force Medal.

After his discharge from active duty, Robert pursued a career working as a chef. He worked in many restaurants up and down the Las Vegas Strip, golf courses in South Carolina; becoming an executive chef for multiple locations. He also worked for Nellis AFB and the Nevada Test Site.

In 1982, Robert would Marry Annimarie. They were married from 1982 to 2008. While there marriage did not last, they would keep a close friendship that lasted until her passing in 2017. In 2008, Robert would meet Peggy Eisenhauer, and they would share a life together until his passing.

Robert was a compassionate and devoted partner and father. In his spare time, Robert wanted to share his passion for Boy Scouts with his children. He started by becoming a scout leader with his oldest, son Joseph Sacco and never left. He worked summer camp staff for local council and was in charge of handicraft station for 3 years. He enjoyed Mountain Men, which included making clothes, exploring and teaching about the food, leatherwork, and bean work. For over 35 years, Robert participated in multiple areas of the Scouts from being a cub scout leader, Cubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, District and Council Commissioner, and a Merit Badge Counselor.

Outside of the Scouts, Robert was a diehard Yankee fan since his youth, had a hobby for woodworking, and spending time with his wife, Peggy, son, Nick and his grandchildren. At the drop of a hat, Robert would do anything for his family, and will truly be missed.

Robert is survived by his wife, Peggy Eisenhauer; his sons: Nicholas Sacco, Donald Eisenhauer (Melanie), Gary Eisenhauer (Mindi); Robert Eisenhauer; his daughter, Naomi Eisenhauer; his siblings: Michael Sacco, David Sacco (Susan), Frank Lee Cegelski; Linda Sacco, and Thomas Sacco; and his grandchildren: Aria Sacco, Joseph Eisenhauer (Christa), Madysin Clackum and Haeydin Clackum. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Sacco; his father, William Sacco; and his mother Carmela Cherubino.

A memorial service for Robert will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
