In Loving Memory of Ruth M. (Yohman) Majovsky. Gifted by God to her parents, John E. Yohman and Mary E. (Senvisky) Yohman 09/27/1927 In Youngstown, Ohio. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brothers Dick Yohman (Judy Yohman) and John Yohman (Mary Jean Yohman) Also preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Majovsky. Ruth attended Holy Name Grade School (1942) and Chaney High School (1946).
Ruth enjoyed many clerical positions throughout her lifetime, North Side Hospital upon high school graduation, the pursued her dreams and moved to New York City 1955 through 1957, then returned to Youngstown Ohio. Upon her return to Ohio, she became employed by The City of Youngstown, Finance Department through 1965. Met my father at a dance and rekindled a childhood friendship, that blossomed into love. Married 07/04/1959, built a home on Wilshire Drive and flourished in a beautiful neighborhood with neighbors that "became family."
Ruth became a "stay at home Mom" in 1965. Always the first to volunteer for school functions and festivities, along with Brownie and Girl Scout adventures. Ruth enjoyed many hobbies over the years, always an avid card player and belonged to many "card clubs" in Ohio. Carried that love with her throughout her lifetime. Ruth also enjoyed ceramics, bingo and crocheting may afghans for friends, family and her church. Ruth also worked for John B. Booth Ins, Co. from 1978-1985 as an administrative assistant and retired in 1985. Ruth found seasonal employment through Mahoning County Department of Elections and this position brought her great joy. She always said "the people were the best." She said she worked hard but, the humor and enjoyment, profound.
After the passing of her husband, Ruth became a "snowbird" travelling between Ohio, and Florida. She so loved the warm weather and loved every minute of "her time in the sun." Moved to Las Vegas, NV and "found her spiritual home" with St Peter the Apostle Church and became a volunteer for the "Hospitality Committee". She loved every minute of being a part of something so much larger than individual alone. She volunteered for their yard sales, festivals and feeding the homeless events, more importantly, when families needed to " lay a loved one to rest."
Ruth was full of love and leaves many that love and cherish her beautiful spirit. Many friends, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and myself, her daughter and family. Her spirit was always full of love, kindness, feistiness but most of all, love. She will always be missed for her love and light that she shared with everyone she met.
