Virgil was born to parents, Virgil William McGhee Sr. and Leomia McGhee (both deceased).
Virgil William McGhee was an only child, and he attended John F. Kennedy High School. He then went on to Ohio State university before working for United Airlines for 39 years. After meeting Bobbie McGhee, they were married and had one daughter, Barbie McGhee. Virgil was blessed with two grandchildren, Vance Goodman (Buster) and Vanicia Goodman (Princess) and one goddaughter Jaynique Johnson.
Virgil enjoyed traveling, music and being with his family. He leaves to mourn his wife, Bobbie McGhee, daughter, Barbie McGhee, grandson, Vane Goodman, granddaughter, Vanicia Goodman, goddaughter, Jaynique Johnson, two sister-in-laws, Diane Barrow and Shirley Williams, one brother-in-law, Lynn Feagins, as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
