Evelyn Rios was born in Miami, Florida on October 21, 1960. She was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend. She was strong, courageous and determined and had a heart of gold; always very loving and caring.
Her parents were Minerva Miranda and Delfin Roman. Evelyn grew up on NW 2nd Ave & 40th St in the Wynwood community. There, she met the love of her life Francisco “Cheton” Rios, who she later married on November 13, 1976. She was the proud mother of three beautiful children: Francisco “Franky” Rios (Rawblow), Agustine “Tinguito” Rios, and Jacqueline “Jackie” Rios (Princess). Evelyn devoted her life to her kids. She was their mother and best friend.
Evelyn worked as a Nail Technician for 25 years. Her nail art was very unique. She was highly gifted at what she did and very passionate about her work.
In 2003, Evelyn became the proud Grandmother of Joseph Pacheco and then in 2011 of Jovani Pacheco. Although her time with her Grandchildren was very short, she loved them very dearly.
Evelyn spent the last 3 years of her life battling pancreatitis at Miami Jackson Hospital’s SICU. She was strong and she fought hard, but the pain and suffering was overbearing. On November 18, 2013 at approximately 548 p.m., at the age of 53, Evelyn’s battle was over.
Although it has been hard, we are grateful that she is no longer suffering and that she has gone to a better place. We are very proud of everything she accomplished during her time here on Earth and are grateful to have known and loved such a beautiful person.
Evelyn, you will forever be in our hearts and you will always be remembered. We love you!
