Alfred Carl Hollar

He was born on September 16, 1945, to the late Frank Hollar and Nell Jarrett Hollar in Catawba County. Carl was a member of West Hickory Baptist Church and was a Youth Leader for many years. He was also a member of the Hickory Masonic Lodge 343.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Louise Bogle Hollar, son -in-law, Matthew Robinson, brothers; Bennett Hollar, Pete Hollar and sister, Susie (Paul) Duffey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Judith Elaine Hollar Robinson of Hickory; granddaughters, Miranda Elaine Minton (Tyler) of Hickory, Madelaine Gracie Smith (Luke) of Las Cruces, NM, two great grandchildren, Hezekiah Minton, Bennett Smith; sister, Carolyn “Sissie” Poovey (Kenny) of Hickory; brother, Charles Lee Hollar (Carolyn) of Hickory; sisters-in-law, Martha Hollar, Barbara Hollar, Judy Laporte, Linda Lutz; brother -in-law, Kenny Bogle and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at West Hickory Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the church. Rev. Scott Frady will officiate the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
