Benny Ray Burcham

Benny was born October 7, 1944 in Catawba Co. to the late Plesant Raymond and Fannie Louise McBride Burcham. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Burcham and a sister, Barbara Varnadore.

He was a retired employee of Catawba Valley Medical Center where he enjoyed his job with his friends and co workers whom he loved so much.

Surviving are a niece: Tammy Hinson and husband, Gaylon of Newton and great nieces; Hayley Hinson and Natalie Hinson, with whom he made his home and knew him as paw-paw; sister; Betty Burcham Hildreth of Rockingham, NC; brother, Buddy Raymond Burcham and wife, Brenda of Hickory; and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Services will be Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain John Robbins officiating.

A graveside service will be Saturday at 12:30 P.M. at Swan Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Elkin, NC.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
