Bertha McMurry McMillian

Bertha was born November 5, 1919 in Polk Co. to the late William and Annie Lindsay McCurry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert McMillian, a son-in-law Terry Morgan, grandson Todd Wright, two sisters, Ruby Alewine, and Barbara Gillie.

She was a member of First Church of God Hickory and retired as a secretary from Top Quality Frames.

Surviving are two daughters Gayle Mitchell and husband Billy of Hickory, Lynda Morgan of Conover, a son Michael McMillian and wife Tricia of Hickory, seven grandchildren; Kelli Jonas and husband Dale, Chad Wright, Trent Wright and wife Maria, Kevin Mitchell, Derek Mitchell, Apryl Sellers and husband Dustin and Sarah McMillian; nine great grandchildren a sister, Joyce Arledge and husband “Hub” of Tryon, two brothers Charles McCurry and wife Lib of Fletcher and Billy McCurry and wife Shirley of Lynn, NC and her best friend Arlie Lail of Hickory.

A Celebration of her life will be held Monday, February 14, at 3:00 PM at First Church of God - Hickory with the Dr. Michael Hone officiating. Pallbearers will be Berthas grandsons. Interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:45 until 2:45 PM at First Church of God- Hickory.
