Blanche Ann Travis Winstead , 89, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born February 17, 1927 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late James Washington Travis and Carrie Anna Whitener Travis. A member of Faith United Church of Christ, she was previously employed in the textile industry as a weaver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Winstead; three sisters and three brothers.
Blanche is survived by her sons, Donald Winstead and wife Patsy and Steve Winstead; daughters, Cathy Rudisill and husband, Jackie and Beverly Watts and husband Chad; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
