HICKORY – Bobbie Jo Helms Baker, 84 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2025.
Born on August 25, 1940 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late William Alexander Sr. and Mamie Watts Helms. Bobbie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Moriah Baptist Church. Bobbie was known for her pound cakes, conversations and her Friday hair appointments.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Baker; grandson, Chase Lynn, and sister, Edith Brown.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Connie Frye and husband Eugene, Stephanie Richards and husband Jeff, Nicole Womack and partner Eric; grandchildren, McKenna, Ian, Elijah, Riley, Crispin; siblings, Doris Self, Phyllis Bost and husband George, William Alexander Helms Jr. and wife Sandy and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Preacher Andrew Watkins officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM 2 PM at the funeral home.
