He was born on June 21, 1941 to the late Ralph Arnold Punch and Zelma Stallings Punch in Catawba County. Boyd was a life- long Child of God and took care of his wife and family until the very end, a promise he had made many years ago before he married his wife, Brenda.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Stallings.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Travis Punch of the home; daughter Joy Carney; granddaughter, Destinie Piskura and husband David; great grandchildren, Ahnah Carney, Ayden Piskura; and brothers, Dennis Punch and Dermid Punch.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church-Northside. Pastor Mike Faircloth will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
