HICKORY - Peggy Gentry, 68 of Hickory passed away on February 16, 2019.
Born April 2, 1950 in Atlanta, GA to the late Carla G. Price and Harry J. Price. She was married to the late Thomas L. Gentry for 43 years. Peggy enjoyed a rewarding 35 year marketing career that included helping to create the Novant brand in Winston-Salem, NC and she was instrumental in Hickory, NC as VP of Marketing & Community Relations, where she helped to rebrand Catawba Valley Medical Center and ushered in its 32nd Magnet Status. Peggy was an avid Carolina Panthers and Duke fan. She loved spending time with family and friends, advocating for the arts and volunteering, crocheting, and reading. She was a loving wife, mother, Meme, sister, and aunt.
She is survived by her loving children, Megan Gentry-Shiraz and her husband Shahpor A. Shiraz, and Amanda G. Parker and her husband Christopher J. Parker; grandchildren, Seth and Emma Parker; her brother, Harry G. Price and his wife Deborah A. Price; her niece and nephew, Rachael Sorrells and Galen Price and their spouses.
