Cecil R. Huitt Jr.

Cecil Roy Huitt, Jr. Newton- Cecil Roy Huitt, Jr. 60 went home to be with his LORD on June 4, 2017. Born on September 9, 1956 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Cecil Roy Huitt, Sr. and Mary Brown. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, friend and neighbor. He loved to preach the word of GOD. He enjoyed fishing, talking, eating and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Kathy of 35 years. Survivors include his mother, Mary Huitt of Catawba, 2 sisters; Alice (Francis) Femister of Charlotte, Cynthia (Derick) Warsop of Catawba, 2 brothers; Keith Huitt of Catawba, Chris Huitt of Conover, 3 sons; Antigo Watkins of Hickory, Cecil Roy Huitt. III of the home in Newton, Rico (Elonda) Huitt of Hickory; 4 grandchildren, Lamont, Khamar, Maniyah and Nasai. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 10, 2017 at 2 pm at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Catawba, NC with Pastor Donald Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 pm at the church. Pallbearers for the service will be his Bunker Hill classmates of 1974. Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com.
