Charlene Denise Perry Bess

Granite Falls-Charlene Denise Perry Bess, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 5, 2018 at her home.She was born on December 1, 1964 in Hamilton County, TN to Gentry Perry and the late Thelma Payne Mays. She was a member of Grace Church. Charlene was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was truly passionate about her 17 year nursing career and love cheering on the Auburn Tigers. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 23 years, Mark Bess of the home, step-son, David Bess and wife Sarah of Denver, NC, grandson, Devin Bess of Denver, NC, father, Gentry Perry and step-mother Charlotte of Chattanooga, TN, stepfather, Jim Mays of Ider, AL, sisters; Cathy Seabolt of South Pittsburg, TN, Gina Lambert and husband Scott of Chattanooga, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews, father and stepmother-in-law; Mel and Debbie Bess, mother-in-law, Linda Brooks.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Dolphins will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
