He was born in Catawba County on September 8, 1936 to the late Kelly and Clara Belle Beard Bowman.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Ricky Alan Bowman.
He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church, Army veteran, and retired Supervisor at North Hickory Furniture.
He is survived by his wife Wetonia ‘Toni” Carswell Bowman of the home; a son Dennis Bowman of Hickory and a sister Shirley Bennion and husband Dick of Charlotte.
Mr. Bowman will lie in state Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 12:00pm to 4:30pm at Hickory Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00pm at Catawba Memorial Park.
Burial will follow the service.
