Danny Ray Deal

Born on May 12, 1943, Danny dedicated his life to the Lord and the spreading the gospel. He was a devoted husband and loving father to his two sons.

Danny was founder and Pastor of Joy Baptist Church where his ministry was marked by his strength and unwavering faith in his Lord. He offered counsel and comfort to the many and nurtured both young and old through his spiritual leadership. Danny was a pillar of strength in the Southern Baptist Community.

Danny also served his country in the United States Navy where he received several medals of accommodation. Due to his effort in the Vietnam War where he served faithfully and honorably, he was retired from the Navy on November 1, 1970.

Danny was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Barbara, his mother Pauline Dority, his father Ray Deal, brother, Randy Deal, brother Dwight Dority and sister Carmen Peterson.

He is survived by his cherished sons Mark D. Deal and wife Kristin, Matthew J. Deal, his sister, Sheila Barger and Evelyn Day.

A graveside service to honor Danny’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Springs Road Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Brown officiating and the family will receive friends from 10-10:50 prior to the service at the church.

While Danny is missed dearly, the legacy he leaves behind and the many lives he touched will not be forgotten
