
Edith “Edie” Faye Willis Carswell, 65 of Conover, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, at Carolina Caring surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on November 4th, 1960, Edith was the daughter of the late Hal Franklin Willis and Beulah Mae Rudisill Willis. Edith worked as an inspector at Hickory Business Furniture. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling and later in life she loved taking trips to the beach. Edith was a sports enthusiast who loved the Duke Blue Devils and the Dallas Cowboys. In her free time, she immersed herself in soap operas and American Idol. Connections Clubhouse played an important role in her life after she retired where she formed lifelong friendships with the staff and clients. She was loved by her family and many friends and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Connections Clubhouse and Mulberry Place in Conover for their compassion and commitment to Edith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Aubrey Gene Huffman, her sisters, Myrtle Anothony, Zoina Gail McSwain, and Lorie Ann Sigman
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Joyce McSwain, husband Matt, grandchildren, Samuel, Sadie, Stella, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2026, at Catawba Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Connections Clubhouse at 1679 SW Blvd, Newton, NC 28658 in Edith’s name.
