Edith Jeanette Hefner Keller, 91 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8th, 2024 at Conover Nursing & Rehabilitation surrounded by her family.
Born on December 14th, 1932 in Orange County, NC, Edith was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Essie Milam Hefner. She was a member of First Church of God in Hickory, NC. She retired from the Catawba County School system after 30 years of dedicated service and worked part-time for Belk in Hickory, NC, where she met many friends and even a few famous customers whom she enjoyed greatly. Every spare moment was spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed plays, musicals, traveling, performing arts and her favorite place was anywhere on a beach.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Randy Allen Keller, sister, Dorothy Cornelius and brother, Clayton “Rusty” Hefner.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jamie Keller Keener (Terry), and bonus daughter, Tina Francesca Teodoro; sons, Michael Ross Keller, Christopher Dwayne Keller (Denise). Grandchildren, Tara Keener, Tyler Keener, Taylor Keener Houser (Daniel), Amanda Keller, Jessie Keller, Christopher Keller, Michael Keller, Bethany Keller Martinez (Christian), Jacob Keller, Matthew Keller, Christina Keller, Aaron Keller and Jared Keller, Dominic Rivera, Adrian Rivera, Gabe Rivera and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Essie Cody (Butler) and Jean Ritchie and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Tommy Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from prior to the service from 11:00 pm to 12:00 pm.
We would like to thank the staff at Conover Nursing and Rehab for the compassion and care given to mom. When mom loved, she loved deeply with all of her heart. Family was more than just a word to mom. Family was everything. We were blessed to have such an example of unconditional love in our lives.
