Edna Mae Carneal Fisher

EDNA M. FISHER CONOVER-Edna Mae Fisher, 87, of Conover passed away on September 30, 2014 at her home, surrounded by family and friends. Edna was born on December 25, 1926, the youngest daughter of the late William and Nancy Carneal of Tappahannock, VA. Her greatest joy in life was her husband and family. She was married for 66 years to William J. (Joe) Fisher, Sr. of Yazoo City Mississippi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Clarice and brothers, Thomas, Beale, Douglas, Johnny, Pat, and Pete. Survivors include her husband, William J. (Joe) Fisher Sr. of Conover; children, Joe Fisher Jr. and wife Jill of Virginia Beach, VA, Johnny Fisher and wife Beth of Tryon, SC, Martha Fisher Poston and husband Bobby of Rock Hill, SC, James Fisher and wife Joy of Denver, NC, Charlie Fisher of Conover, Tally Fisher of Charlotte, Andy Fisher and wife Shelia of Liberty, SC; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Carneal and wife Frances, Francis Carneal and wife Joan of Tappahannock, VA; sister-in-law, Irma Carneal of Tappahannock; and numerous other family members. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 6:30 -8 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations, 3060 Hwy 70 SE, Newton, NC 28658. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Ed Sheridan officiating, 720 W 13th St, Newton, NC 28658.
