Edward James Owenby, age 69 of Denver, North Carolina went home to the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Edward was born on January 1, 1946 in Franklin, North Carolina to Echel and Julie Martin Owenby and was a life long resident of North Carolina. He proudly served his country in Vietnam as a member of the United States Army. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Martha Owenby of Denver, North Carolina; children, Tony Owenby of Denver, North Carolina and Pam Solbakken and husband Jimmy of Iron Station, North Carolina; brother Stan "Hector" Owenby of Denver, North Carolina; sister, Beth Johnson and husband Floyd of Morganton, North Carolina and grandchildren, Caleb and Silas Solbakken of Iron Station, North Carolina. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon, Friday July 3, 2015 at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11:30 am Friday at Catawba Funeral Home.
