Elleane Cora Lackey

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Sis loved all people and every person she came in contact with loved her.

Elleane was born November 14, 1929 in Catawba Co. to the late Zero and Junie Wise Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton R. Lackey, two brothers, Forrest Johnson and William Ford Johnson.

Before her retirement she was the co-owner and operator of Sonny’s Grill.

Surviving are a daughter: Rita Jolly and husband, Wade of Hickory, sons: Sonny Alton Lackey, Sr., and wife, Kathy of Hickory and Kevin Todd Lackey and companion, Robin Travis of Hickory, granddaughters: Holly Jolly Whitener and husband, Brian of Taylorsville and Kendra Travis of Hickory, grandsons: Sonny Alton Lackey, Jr. and wife, Angie, Bryan Neil Lackey and John Franklin Eagle, Jr. all of Hickory, great granddaughter: Shayla Floyd, Alton Lackey, Andrew Lackey all of Hickory, Riley Whitener and Coley Whitener both of Taylorsville, sister: Fannie Swink of Valdese.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 6, at 11:00 AM at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Homer Greene and Reverend Eugene Cantrell officiating. Pallbearers will be Sis’s grandsons and great grandsons and two special friends.

Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
