Eric Matthew Crosby

May 27, 1975 – June 10, 2025

Eric Matthew Crosby, age 50, passed away on Tuesday, June 10th at his residence in Hickory, NC after a period of declining health.

Eric lived a simple life, and to know him was truly to love him. With a heart of gold and a welcoming spirit, he never met a stranger. He was a hard worker, a loyal friend, and a devoted family man who found joy in the company of those he loved. Whether spending time with family, friends, or neighbors, Eric was happiest when surrounded by others, sharing stories, laughter, and love.

He was a loving son, cousin, and friend, and his kind and gentle presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Eric was preceded in death by his cousin, Seth Allison, and his beloved uncle, Mark Hall. The three shared countless unforgettable weekends and summer afternoons roaming the woods and fields of Western North Carolina. They spent their time together searching for arrowheads, hiking mountain trails, playing in the streams, and building memories that shaped their lives.

Left to cherish Eric’s memory are his mother, Polly Braswell (William); his aunts, Anne Allison and Sunny Hall; his wife, Cynthia Land; and his cousins, George Allison and Dakota Hall.

Eric’s journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Hickory Funeral Home with Reverend Ernie Richards officiating.
