Frances Irene Edwards

Mint Hill – Frances Irene Edwards 87 of Mint Hill went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 14, 2021.

Born on February 16, 1934 in Wilkes County, NC, Frances was the daughter of the late Turner Edward and Mary Emily Bowers Anderson.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Porter Wiles; a brother, David Anderson; a sister, Mildred Joines; her last husband, Paul Edwards; a grandson, Billy Ray Porter, Jr and a great grandson, Daniel Porter.

She is survived by 2 brothers, Turner Anderson and wife, Evelyn, and Charlie Anderson; 3 sons, Billy Ray Porter and wife, Jan, Douglas Edward Porter and wife, Brenda, and Thomas “TR” Rhudy Porter and wife, Beth; 5 grandchildren, Tina Caviness, Steven Porter, Jennifer Grant, Marie Porter and Thomas C. Porter; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastors James Wingler and Adam Grant officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church at 517 Corporation St, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 in Frances’ name.
