Geneva Evans Watts

HICKORY - Geneva Evans Watts, 82, passed away March 15, at her residence after a brief battle with cancer.Geneva was born July 17, 1932 in Haywood Co. to the late Jack and Pauline Bryson Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Watts; son, Blaine Watts; sister, Jolean White and 2 brothers, Elmer and Jerry Evans. She was a member of Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church, Senior Stars and retired after 44 years from Shuford Mills.Surviving are daughters; Kathy Clark and husband, Ronald of Pleasant Garden, NC and Kay McKinney of the home;granddaughter, Aundrea McCall and husband, Jason of Pleasant Garden, NC; grandsons, Chad McKinney and wife, Annette of Hickory, Justin Clark and wife, Kim of Taylors, SC, Tyler McKinney and wife, Casey of Conover and Brandon Watts and wife, Stephanie of Newton; great grandchildren, Jared, Ashlyn, Jackson, Laina, Abigail, Kaitlyn and Koltin; sisters, Leona Townsend and husband, Harold of Sevierville, TN, Shelba Jean Ledford of Hickory and Dorothy Hoyle and husband, Jerry of Conover; brothers, Larry Evans and wife, Paulette of Conover and Everette Evans and wife, Brenda of Hickory; special dau-in-law, Dana Clontz of Claremont and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday, March, 18, at 2:00 P. M. at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Faulkenbury and Rev. Paul Deal officiating. Interment will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 17, from 5:00 until 8:00 P.
