

George was born January 12, 1926 in Catawba Co. to the late Horace Dewey and Clara Bolick Hahn,
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Harold Dewey and Rebecca Bumgarner Hahn.
He was a lifelong member of Augustana Lutheran Church.
He was a retired well driller, owner and operator of Hahn Mobile Home Park and operator of the flea market at Hickory livestock barn on Sweetwater Rd.
He served in the US Army in WW II in the 3rd Armor Division under General George Patton ,“Pattons Pride and Joy”. He also, was a founding and lifetime member of the Catawba Co. Wildlife Club.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Eckard Hahn of 63 years of the home, daughters, Deborah Hahn Moore and friend, Terry Burleson of Hickory, Sharon Hahn Lasky and husband Daniel of Hickory, son, George Eugene “Gene” Hahn, Jr. and wife Bobbie Wright Hahn of Hickory, granddaughters, Shanna Blinson Curtis, Chelsea Hahn Hartness and husband, Devin, Lindsay Cherise Hahn, Kyla Marie Hahn all of Hickory, grandsons, Russell David Blinson and George Eugene Hahn, III both of Hickory, great-granddaughter, Hannah Renea Curtis of Hickory, great-grandson, George Nathaniel Blinson of Hickory, sister, Marion Hahn Miller of Newton, brother, Wilburn Franklin Hahn and wife Naomi of Newton, a very special sister-in-law, Virginia Ritch, a number of nieces and nephews and caregivers, Sandra Lane and Shelia Thompson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 20, at 11:00 A. M. at Augustana Lutheran Church with the Reverend Andrew Smith officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by the American Legion Post #48.
Receiving will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
