

HICKORY – Glenda Hill Johnson, 49, of Hickory went to be with our Lord on July 2, 2014 at her home. Born on December 27, 1964 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Ellen Hill. Glenda was a wonderful mother, sister, and friend. She worked at Beagle Brand Hosiery and Joan Fabrics, then she started her own home cleaning service. For a time she helped her sister Linda and mother Ellen with E & L Cakes. Glenda was heavily involved in volunteer work which included directing traffic at Viewmont Elementary School for nearly a decade. She loved to work in her garden. She will be forever loved and missed by all that knew her. Survivors include her sons, Michael Johnson and wife Megan of Newport News, VA, Edward (EJ) Julian III of Connelly Springs; sisters, Cindy Rector of Vale, Linda Autrey of Hickory; boyfriend, Alan Kreps of Salisbury, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on July 5, 2014 at 3 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Kevin Bibbee officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-3 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hickory Church of Christ, for the food and clothing pantry, the ministry she was involved in, 1218 Fairgrove Church Rd, Hickory, 28602.
