He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Zula M. Springs of Catawba; children, Mary Hawkins of Hickory, Sheila (Mark) Brewer of Newton, Elizabeth (Jason) Parker of Hickory, Jerome Springs and Vanessa (Aaron) McCullum all of Catawba; sisters, Christine Linebarger of Hickory and Juanita Linebarger of Tucson, Arizona; 11 grandchildren , 27 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, October 27 2016 at Smyre’s Chapel AME Zion Church, 100 6th Ave. SE in Catawba. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 1pm on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Isaiah name to a local charity of your choice.
