JAMES “JIM” EDDIE FISHER CONOVER-James “Jim” Fisher, 67, of Conover passed away on December 28, 2014. Born on September 12, 1947 in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late James and Edna Fisher. Jim was raised in Weaverville and graduated from North Buncombe High School in 1966. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1966-1970. After basic training, Jim served as a volunteer in a School of Aerospace Medicine study before being stationed at Plattsburg Air Force Base in New York. He worked in the construction industry before opening Fisher Roofs and Decks, a commercial roofing business located in Hickory, NC. Jim was an avid golfer and kind hearted person who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered most for his entertaining stories, jokes, and antics. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Alicia H. Fisher of Conover; son, Eric Fisher and wife Nikki of Hickory; daughter, Tina Conrad of Charlotte, daughter, Tonya Wolff and husband Adam of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren, Alex Fisher, Darian Fisher, Amber Conrad, Ben Wolff, Sara Wolff; siblings, Janie Boone, Tommy Fisher and wife Judy, Evie “Corky” Wells and husband Richard, and Doug Fisher. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11 AM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Ben Whitmire officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
