James Hugh Harris

James was born July 6, 1929 in Catawba Co. to the late Paul Forrest and Gladys Floride Bumgarner Harris. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jerry Ross Beck and a step son, Norman Crawford.

He was a member of Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church and retired from Carving Craft after 40 years of service

Surviving are his wife, Crena L. Harris of the home; daughter, Alma Harris Beck of Granite Falls; step daughter, Alice Abernethy and husband, Dale of Granite Falls; step son, Bruce Crawford of Connelly Springs, N. C.; step grandchildren, Nick, Amy, Brian Crawford, Holly A. Shuford; step great grandchildren, Emma, Charlie, Allie, Alyssa and Cameron Crawford.

Services will be Saturday, October 13, at 3:00 P. M. at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Faulkenbury and Rev. Paul Deal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 – 3:00 P. M. at the church.
