HICKORY – Jamie Denise Abernathy, 65 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2025 at Carolina Caring surrounded by her family.
Jamie was born on May 17, 1959 in Catawba County. She was the daughter of the late Robert Earl and Helen Cline Watts. She loved going to the beach and the Carolina Tarheels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant children, Jonathan Eric Abernathy and Torrey Denise Hyde, and a brother, Bruce Timothy Watts.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Ronnie Watts and wife Karen, her best friend, Johnny Ray and girlfriend, Michelle Adkins; niece, Telisha Denise Goossens and husband Aaron; nephew, Joshua Lee Watts and wife Chelsey; great nephews, Brayden and Jordan Gossens; great-niece, Ruby Watts and her beloved fur baby, Shyla.
Funeral Service will held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 1 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Stines officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
They family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 PM -1 PM at the funeral home.
