Janie was born July 13, 1921 in Gaston Co. to the late Obie and Martha Taylor Liverett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl Brackett.
She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three daughters, Janet Brackett of Hickory, Jean Cutshaw of Conover, and, June Pressley of Shelby. As well as six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 A. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ernest Richards officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. View Memorial Park, Black Mountain, N.C at 2:00 P.M.
The family will receive friends Tuesday at Hickory Funeral Home from 9:30 – 10:45 A.M.
