

He was born on January 19, 1952 to the late Joseph Daniel Stevens and Lucille Carter Stevens in Randolph County. Jerry retired as a semi-truck driver for several companies, after driving for over 50 years.
He was a dearly loved husband of 36 years. Beyond being a husband, he was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. Jerry was a man that was passionate about his Godly faith and was a great witness. Not only did he love his family, but he loved his church family at Calvary Baptist Church. One of his greatest passions was antique cars and trucks, the faster the better,
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Lee Stevens, son-in-law, Monty White, and grandson, Jarrett Killian.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Joann Cook Stevens of the home; daughters, Amber McBride and husband David of Thomasville, Mandy Stevens of Thomasville, Deborah Killian of Hickory, Lori Kaylor and husband Lonnie of Conover, Sherry White of Hickory; grandchildren, Mason McBride of Thomasville, Jessica McGhinnis and husband Mark of Hickory, Savanna Crooks of Conover, Rebecca Shull of Valdese, Johnathan Shull and wife Kala of Maiden; granddaughter-in-law, Alyssa Killian, great grandchildren, Connor McGhinnis, Luke Shull, Maverick Shull, Lainey Rae Lackey, Autumn Killian; sisters, Debra Hunt and husband Gray of Randleman, LaDonna Bean and husband Monty of Randleman, brothers; Robert “Bobby” Stevens and wife Tammy of Randleman, Randy Stevens and wife Angnes of Randleman.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Bert Dixon and Asst. Pastor Dayton Haas will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
