CONOVER – Jerry David Watts, 81 of Conover passed away on August 24, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 27, 1940 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Theodore and Lovie Crump Watts. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. Second to his family, Jerry loved the outdoors. He spent most of his life farming/gardening, hunting, fishing and camping. Some of his greatest attributes were sharing his knowledge and skills of the outdoors with his family/ friends and creating great memories while doing so.
Jerry always welcomed visits to their house. On any given day, you would find him sitting on the porch in bare feet while dressed in his favorite pair of worn blue jeans with the legs rolled up and wearing the biggest welcoming grin on his face.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Billy Joe Watts, sisters; Peggy Minton and Hazeleen Blevins
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 59 years Rachel Jeanette Bowman Watts; children, Paula Heyer and husband Dave Heyer, Jason Watts and wife April Watts; grandchildren, Garrison Heyer and Alyssa Heyer, siblings; Betty Smith (Ray), Pansy Hull (Wayne- deceased), Doris Dobish (Billy- deceased), and Christine McCall, and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, alongwith a special group of hunting/ fishing friends.
