Joann Eckard Killian

Hickory - Joann Eckard Killian, 77, passed away Wednesday, October, 28, 2015 at Trinity Village after several years of declining health. Joann was born November 9, 1937 in Catawba County to the late Arthur and Edna Lail Eckard. Joann was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jerry Leroy Killian, four brothers; Ray Eckard, Carl Eckard, Jack Eckard, Donald Eckard, two sisters, Irene Clontz and Pauline Triplett. Joann was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church M.S. Surviving are three sons; Randy Killian and wife Lisa, Leslie Killian and wife Lori and Bradley Killian and wife Donna, grandchildren, Emily, Erin, Olivia Norris and husband Alex, Jordan, Abigail, Joshua and LeeAnna, brothers; Harold Eckard and wife Jenny, Jay Lee Eckard, sisters in law; Nina Eckard, Marie Mosteller, brother in law Jimmie Killian, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Mike and Deborah Eckard and Francis Reese for their many visits. The family will receive friends Friday, October 30, 2015 from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM at St Stephen's Lutheran Church M.S. with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 PM at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, M.S. with Reverend David Guelzow and David Ziehr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A very special thanks is given to the staff at Trinity Village for their loving care.
