Hickory – John Kenneth Applegate, Jr., 81 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 5th, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born on October 19th, 1942 in Tioga County, NY, John was the son of the late John Kenneth Applegate, and Mary Burns Applegate.
Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife of 39years, Victoria Ann Berns Applegate sister Ann Munroe brother Terry Applegate children Debbie Endsley, Laura Haygood,Kurt Driscoll Frank Driscoll John Applegate III, and Tracy Furguson his 11 grand children and 15 great grandchildren. An innumerable amount of friends.
He was a strong man filled with Iove and gerousity. He has made a huge impact in many lives. He will truly be missed.
A Graveside Service will be scheduled at a later date at The Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
