

He was born on August 23, 1944 to the late William Carl Bruner and Annie Marie Goodson Bruner in Radford, VA.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Bruner; his stepson, David Reitzel; his cousin, Rick Sigmon; and niece, Dawn Bell.
Survivors include his sister, Jeanette Bell and husband Luther; his brother, Thomas Bruner and wife Jeanette ; his daughter Candis Terez Bruner; his two stepdaughters, Deborah Dietz and Lori Clark; his grandchildren, Stetson Clark, Heather Reitzel, David Retizel, Dillion Reitzel, London Dietz, Eva Dietz and Jared Dietz; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Johnny was a United States Navy Veteran where he served as a Navy Corpsman. He enjoyed 31 years of marriage and happy memories with his late wife, Margaret. He worked for Charles Hicks photography most of his adult life. Later in life, Johnny found Christ Church to be a special place of community where he met several friends that became like family, such as Angel Hale. He was instrumental in the starting of Celebration Recovery at Christ Church Hickory Campus, where he served and mentored for 17 years. Johnny loved cars, music, movies, and golfing. His main love was the Lord, his family, friends, his church family, and his dogs Sissy and Pookie.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 19th at 5 PM at Christ Church Mountain View Campus with Pastor Charles Kyker.
