John Doyle Ogle Sr.

John Doyle Ogle, Sr., 92, passed away August 20, 2014 at his residence. John was born February 2, 1922 in Burke Co. to the late John Stevens and Donnie Mae Ogle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charlsie Abernethy. He was employed 20 years by Shuford Mills and a Navy veteran of WW II. Surviving are son, John Doyle Ogle, Jr. of Conover; daughters, Sherry Ogle of Randleman, N. C. and Shelia Madison of Conover; sisters, Myrtice Ward of Hildebran, Henrietta Huffman of Henry River, Doris Sigmon of Hildebran, June Winkler of Miami, FL and Phyllis Propst of Mt. View; four grandsons, seven great grandchildren and twelve great- great- grandchildren. Services will be Monday, August 25, at 2:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernest Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, August 25, from 1:00 – 1:45 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
