

Johnny was born July 9, 1938 in Mitchell Co. to the late Cicero Hardin and Susie Marie Burleson Petty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Moore Petty; brothers, Roy Claude and Gene Petty and a brother-in-law, Larry Moore.
He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and retired from E. R. Carpenter.
Surviving are his daughter, Sandra Callahan and husband, Michael, of Hickory; son, Johnny Dwayne Petty of Hickory; granddaughters, Sheila Wade and husband, Barry, of Statesville and Regina Seagle of Hickory; great grandson, Logan Daniel Wade of Statesville; great granddaughter, Allie Rebecca Wade of Statesville; great great grandsons, Anthony Teague and Jacob Fredrick of Hickory; sisters, Shirley Weaver and husband, Ralph, of Hickory and Carolyn Weaver and husband, James, of Hickory; brother; Jack Petty and wife, JoAnne, of Hickory; sister-in-law, Pat Petty of Hickory; mother-in-law, Mary Mathewson of Hickory; brothers-in-law, Roger Moore and wife, Brenda of Hickory and Allen Moore and wife, Sandy, of Hickory
Services will be Saturday, February 16, at 2:00 P. M. at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. William Kanupp officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday at Hickory Funeral Home from 6:30 – 8:00 P. M.
