Born on April 13, 1942 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late James Allen and Ruby Bradshaw Crump.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Sweet Crump and his brothers Doyle Crump and Bruce Crump.
He was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter Aleisha Crump Davidson husband Shannon of Taylorsville; son, Travis Crump of Hickory; grandchildren, Haley Nicole Crump of Hickory, Pyper Grace Crump of Hickory, Gwyneth Davidson of Taylorsville, and Ashlyn Davidson of Taylorsville and his brother Allan Crump and wife Sheila of Lenoir.
Neal will lie in state on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Bill Sturm will officiate the service.
