Joseph Wayne Franklin

Wayne age 82 of Icard, NC went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born to Garvine and Marie Franklin.

Wayne started his own business, Wayne’s Carpet Cleaning in 1970, the family business will continue to be operated by his two sons Joseph Jr, and Scott Franklin.

Wayne personally loved his customers. He loved his Lord, his First Baptist Church of Hildebran, NC, he loved his family, and he loved the people at his church. His dog Molly was a great love.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 63 years, Roberta, 3 sons, Joseph Jr., and wife Anita of Granite Falls, Scott and partner Leon Hoover of Hickory, and Kelly and wife Peggy of Cornelius; sister Shirley Ledford and husband Leon of Icard, brother Jack Franklin and wife Nancy of Hickory; grandchildren Oneita Murphy and husband Derek of Hickory, Stephanie Setzer and husband Mitchell of Lenoir; great grandchildren Tate, Micah and Sadie; nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

Wayne went to Hildebran High School. In school his nickname was “Baseball” that was his love, later in life he loved golf and his golf buddies.

Wayne would want the family to thank Frye Hospital, Carolina Caring of Newton, and all the people who prayed to God on his behalf.
