

He was born on May 19, 1933 in Catawba County where he remained a lifelong resident.
He married July 20, 1957 to Marlyn M. (nee Propst). They were blessed with two children Lori Ann Hollar Joyner (deceased), and Kurt Charles Hollar of Durham, NC.
Ken was an employee of Uniform Rental Supply and retired after 48 years.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and often spoke of his deployment experiences.
He enjoyed watching UNC Basketball, westerns, and war movies.
Ken was an active member of Miller’s Lutheran Church, Hickory, NC where he served on numerous boards and participated in other church activities.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Obed Craig Hollar and Lula Cora (nee Kaylor), daughter Lori Ann Joyner; six brothers and sisters; Richard Hollar, Mary Hollar Sipe, Eunice Hollar Miller, Gladys Hollar Mullen, Melvin Hollar and Joyce Hollar Liebelt.
In addition to his wife and son he is survived by his brother-in-law Edwin Propst and wife Joan of Hickory; sister-in-laws Joan Shook of Hickory, Sharon Herman and husband David of Lenoir and Susan Salamandra and husband Steve of San Rafael, CA.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:30am at Miller’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Todd Cook officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
