

He was born on September 6th, 1941, to the late William Monroe Propst and Goldie Keller Propst Johnson in Catawba County. During his life, he was an active member of Sardis Lutheran Church. He was a self-employed owner and operator of M&K Market at Propst Crossroads and was an employee of Fresh-Air Supermarket in downtown Hickory.
Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife Margaret Fulbright Propst, his daughters; Elaine Propst of the home and Dena Propst of Hickory, his sons; William Propst of Hickory and Clay Propst of Hickory, his grandchildren; Caitlan Propst, Matthew Townsend, Jordan and Jake Willis, Riley and Alanna Propst, Gaige Propst, Logan Propst, Olivia Propst, Collyns Propst, and 1 great-grandchild to be born in April. He is also survived by his sisters, Kay Whitesell (Steve) of Gastonia and Rita Floyd (Ben) of Winston-Salem along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10th from 1:00pm – 2:45pm at Sardis Lutheran Church. Followed by a funeral service at 3:00pm in the church sanctuary with Pastor Oscar Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
