LILLIE ELIZABETH SETZER MACKEY HICKORY – Lillie S. Mackey, 92 of Hickory passed away February 17, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born December 23, 1922 to the late Fred and Sadie Setzer in Catawba County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Halkard E. Mackey Sr. and daughter Judy Kay Mackey Wilson. Survivors include children, Dr. Halkard E. Mackey, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, Karen E. Mackey of Fredericksburg, VA, and Kevin E. Mackey of Conover, NC; son-in-law James Wilson of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Lisa Lynne Mackey Frazier, Samantha Mackey Hillaire, Jonathan Paul Bagley, Lindsey Meghan Bagley, Terri Lail, and Mark Coley; great-grandchildren, Kasey-Lyn Mackey Frazier, Kayleigh Renae Bagley, Deanna Fah Friedel, Halie and Logan Lail, Dawson Easter, Dillion, Tot and Preston Coley, Enya Navarro, and Faith Hodge; sister, Wilma Setzer Hefner of Hickory, NC; brothers, Donald Setzer, Gary Setzer, and Dick Setzer all of Hickory, NC. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Catawba Funerals & Cremations at 3 pm. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
