Louanna (Bryant) Strom

Born on February 27, 1952, in Catawba County, Louanna was the beloved daughter of the late William and Jolene Canipe Bryant. She was a dedicated hairdresser for many years, known for making others feel beautiful inside and out. Outside of work, Louanna found great joy in her garden—nurturing flowers and plants brought her peace and pride. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Shea Sluder and husband Marc of Connelly Springs, and Katheryne Pennington and husband Chris of Franklin, Wisconsin. Louanna was a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Bryant McGee, and husband Gary of Conover, and her cherished furry friend, Gizmo.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Catawba County Humane Society in Louanna’s memory, in honor of her lifelong love for animals.
