Statesville – Luther Partee Bentley, 83 of Statesville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on December 18th, 1941, in Alexander County, Luther was the son of the late Ralph L. Bentley and Mabel Bentley. Luther was a caring, hardworking man who had his own business, Bentley Electric and was always fair and considerate to the community. Luther loved his church, and he was a faithful member of Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church of Hickory, and he also attended Refuge Missionary Baptist Church and Startown Baptist Church. He was loved by his family and community and will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Richard Bentley, son, Mark Bentley and his sisters, Susan Meade and Marie Williams McMahon as well as, his brother, Charles Bentley.
Those left to cherish his memory include, his daughter, Julie Conner of the home; his daughter, Lucinda Robinson and husband Albert; his sons, Jeffery Bentley and Luther Bentley, Jr.; his grandsons, Brandon Conner and wife Taylor and Eric Conner, Richard Robinson and wife Sharon; his granddaughters, Michelle Townsend and husband Joshua and Heather Buff and husband Dustin; his two great grandchildren, Warren and William Townsend, as well as his three siblings, Hayden Bentley, Linda Bradshaw and Ruby Carter.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Sunday, January 19th ,2025 at 2:00 pm with Pastor William Church officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association in Luther’s name.
