Mabel Sherrill Teague

She was born on January 31, 1924 in Caldwell Co. to the late J. Henry and Myra Smith Sherrill.

Mrs. Teague was employed by Shuford Mills, Inc. for over 40 years, active in her community, elected to the town council of Granite Falls, and served as long-time treasurer for First United Methodist Church, Granite Falls.

Mrs. Teague was preceded in death by her husband, Gene H. Teague, Sr., two sisters, Thelma Carpenter of Hickory, Frances Cline of Salisbury; three brothers, Joe Sherrill of Granite Falls, James Sherrill of Lenoir and Bob Sherrill of Hickory.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gene H. Teague, Jr. and wife, Libby, of Hickory and David S. Teague of Erwin, TN; a grandson, Zachary B. Teague of Hickory, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, May 3, at First United Methodist Church in Granite Falls. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1pm to 2:30pm.
